BOSTON, April 4, 2014 - The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) today announced that the 2013-2014 Gary L. Lilien ISMS-MSI Practice Prize was awarded to Martin Natter and Ju-Young Kim, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany and Ana-Marija Ozimec, ENTEGA GmbH & Co. KG, Germany  for their work “ECO: Entega’s Profitable New Customer Acquisition on Online Price Comparison Sites.”

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS^®) today announced the award of its annual INFORMS Prize to Mayo Clinic, the innovative healthcare organization that has used analytics throughout its organization to provide economical, quality services in an era of ballooning medical costs.

Wagner Prize judged by CPMS, the association’s practice section, is Yedioth Group, the Israeli media company, for analysis that reduced the cost of delivering print magazines at a time when the news industry is facing ever increasing competition from the Internet and social media.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS®), the leading association for professionals in analytics, today announced that Michel Balinski of C.N.R.S. and the École Polytechnique/Paris Tech in France was named the 2013 recipient of the association’s John von Neumann Theory Prize.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS®), the leading association for professionals in analytics, today announced that Arthur Geoffrion, the James A. Collins Professor of Management Emeritus at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, was named the 2013 recipient of the INFORMS President’s Award.

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS^®) has awarded its prestigious UPS George D. Smith Prize to the Naval Post Graduate School. The prize was announced at a banquet on Monday, April 8 in San Antonio, Texas at the 2013 INFORMS Conference on Business Analytics and Operations Research.

The Dutch Delta Program Commissioner, whose work to prevent flooding created notice in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, won the 2013 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences at a banquet sponsored by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) in San Antonio tonight.
