The RAS poster session provides an interactive way to share knowledge and state-of-the-art research in railroad applications. Poster presenters will have the opportunity to showcase research or projects that are in the early stages of development, and benefit from the interactive critique, suggestions, and encouragement from colleagues working in the rail area. Any topics related to Operations Research or Data Analytics in railroad business are appropriate.
The Railway Application Section (RAS) of INFORMS invites nominations for the RAS Distinguished Member Award. The award is created to recognize individuals whose distinguished service to RAS has helped to significantly advance the goals and objectives of the society.
RAS provides a forum for bringing together practitioners, consultants, and academics interested in applying Operations Research and Management Science techniques to the railroad industry.
The student paper contest is intended to stimulate interest in OR/MS applications to railways, and to encourage students to pursue an education in railway applications.The methodologies of OR/MS include mathematical programming, simulation, analytics, data analysis, and scientific management. The focus in RAS and INFORMS is the management of technology, resources, and service delivery.
