Two Student Chapters to Compete in 2013 Dow Chemical “Big Data Challenge”
On March 22, the INFORMS student chapter at Texas A&M University will kick off the inaugural “Big Data Challenge”, sponsored by Dow Chemical. Students from the chapter at University at Buffalo are also invited to compete. Teams may include graduate and undergraduate students from either or both universities. The objective is to evaluate a shared railcar fleet model, identify key cost drivers, and provide alternative designs. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place submissions.
